Installation & Activation of Kaspersky Standard (Sri Lanka)

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing Kaspersky Standard. This guide explains how to properly install and activate your antivirus software.

If you are upgrading from an older version such as Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security, or Kaspersky Total Security, please uninstall the previous version before proceeding.

2. Uninstall Previous Version (If Applicable)

Before installing Kaspersky Standard, remove any existing Kaspersky products.

Steps (Windows 8 or later)

1. Click Start and open Settings

2. Go to Apps & Features

3. Locate Kaspersky in the list

4. Click Uninstall

5. Remove any additional Kaspersky tools (e.g., VPN, Password Manager)

6. Restart your computer

This ensures a clean installation and avoids conflicts.

3. Installation Process

Step 1: Download the Installer

Download the latest version of Kaspersky Standard for your device:

Step 2: Start Installation

1. Open the downloaded installation file

2. The setup wizard will launch

3. Accept the End User License Agreement

4. Optionally agree to participate in Kaspersky Security Network 

Step 3: Install the Application

1. Click Install

2. Wait for the installation to complete

3. This may take several minutes depending on your system 

Step 4: Complete Installation

1. Once installation is complete, the application will start automatically

2. In some cases, you may need to restart your computer

3. Browser security extensions will also be installed automatically 

4. Activation Guide

Activation Code

You need a valid activation code to activate the software.

The code format is:

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX 

Activation Steps

1. Open the My Kaspersky website

2. Sign in or create a new account

3. Locate the option: Already have an activation code?

4. Enter your activation code

5. Click Add

6. Sign in using your registered email

The application will be activated automatically according to your subscription. 

5. Important Notes

1. The subscription period starts from the first activation on a device

2. If you renew with the same number of devices, remaining days will be added to the new license

3. If you change the number of devices, the new subscription starts after the current one expires
